After two months of head-scratching, research, and long repetitive emailed conversations with an ineffectual tech support department, we finally got a new IP address to separate our domain from whoever was sending spam through our shared server. In order for common good bank website emails to reflect the new IP address, I spent the last couple days revising the website to send mail a different way. (For you techies out there, we are now using the php PEAR smtp mail class instead of the built-in mail() function.)

This whole spam debacle has delayed our “quarterly” newsletter by two months, during which time quite a lot has happened. So tonight I am strategizing how best to bring everyone up to date concisely, while providing plenty of optional detail. I’ll try to get the newsletter out in the next couple days.
