Endorse or Partner With Us

Endorse the Common Good Bank project (if you are a prominent individual) OR Sign your organization up to partner with us, to establish a Common Good Bank community system. NOTE: This is not a contract. It is not binding. It is a statement of intent.
ENDORSEMENT:*
"I/We support the common good bank plan."
We may categorize your organization either as an endorser or as a partner, at our discretion. In particular, for-profit businesses that only "promote" will likely be listed as endorsers.
*Here's what we mean by "endorsement". If you endorse, you are saying to the world that Common Good Bank communities are a good idea. Endorsers add the weight of their name to the project. Endorsers are listed here. If you are an individual please use the Signup Form instead unless your name is well-known locally, regionally or nationally.
**Here's what we mean by "partner". Partners give the project two things:
- HELP: Partners help move the project forward in some significant way, for example by promoting it in a newsletter or on their website, or by giving technical assistance or oversight or by helping financially. Any one of these actions is enough, by itself.
- HEFT: Partner organizations add the weight of their name to the project. For example, the project's website may say "this is a project of organization #1, organization #2, etc.".
Partners benefit in three or four ways:
- PUBLICITY: Partner organizations will be mentioned often as the common good bank project is being promoted. Our partner organizations are listed here
- SUCCESS: Partners will share in the project's ultimate success.
- POTENTIAL FUNDING: Nonprofit partners can receive grant funds to support a local common good bank organizer and will be eligible after opening to receive part of the profits and merchant contributions from the common good bank. Retail partners, such as food cooperatives, will also benefit especially from the common good bank's no-fee local credit/debit card, which could save the business thousands of dollars in credit card fees. Qualified organizations may also invest in the project, when that becomes possible.
- PARTNERSHIP AFTER OPENING: A nonprofit partner in each community division will assist people in opening accounts and applying for loans. Labor and equipment costs for these services will be covered by the community's share of the bank profits. Retail partners may offer a rebate on purchases by common good bank members in exchange for advertising, and/or give them "cash back" on their Common Good™ Card, with no purchase required (and no fee to the retailer).
