If 200 depositors in your community each deposit (on average) $5,000, then you have $900,000 to lend out (90% of 200 x $5,000). Other communities can also choose to lend to projects in your community.

How can the bank generate the deposits and investments it needs to provide enough lending for construction loans such as a pioneering sustainable home? I shared with presentation attendees that another 8 million was to be raised after the 1.5 million start up requirement.  I shared that the CGB website has a business plan with the scenarios of how the projections would look for the first few years.  Should that be the response for this kind of question?  I'm guessing it will take some time to generate the capital to begin considering larger loans on a local division level.  Other doubts centered around how would we generate the capacity for these larger loans if we're only honoring a projected rate of return based on inflation over the last 30 years, roughly 6%, and giving all of the profits away.
