Writing at New Deal 2.0, William Hogeland has published a series of articles on finance and banking in Colonial America. The most recent article, published March 21, talks about Hamilton's advocacy for a strong central bank. He also tells about three other figures of the time who argued that the central bank would serve only the landed and the merchant class, and would not serve the common people.
