Common Good Finance
the revoLution with a bank

wherever you are
here's why

Why Join?

Common Good Bank communities can make a better world for everyone. Common Good Bank will be an internet bank with local presence, so you can participate from anywhere.

As Common Good Bank Members, WE own the bank. We decide together what our bank should invest in locally and how the profits will be distributed for the good of all.

What should our bank invest in?
  • Local agriculture and small business?
  • Education?
  • Renewable energy?
  • Cooperative healthcare?
What should the profits be spent on?
  • The arts and sciences?
  • Social services?
  • Environmental protection?
  • Disaster relief?

It's our bank. We decide.
Real democracy. Real money. Real power.

Why You?

Most banks are started by a small group of people with a lot of money. Then those people make a big profit. We are launching Common Good Bank from the grassroots. No individuals will make a big profit. Our communities and the world will be the big winners.

We need a few thousand Founding Members to make it go. We need YOU!

Why 3 Types of Financing?

As a Founding Member you contribute to 3 stages of startup funding, at whatever level works for you:

DONATIONS cover the costs of designing, promoting, and chartering Common Good Bank, including staff compensation, government fees, legal fees, printing, postage, travel, telephone, etc.

LOANS cover the costs of launching the Common Good Bank system, from when we apply for a charter until the bank opens. This includes legal fees, staff salaries, software development, office rental, etc. Regulators require that we have this capital BEFORE applying for a charter.

PURCHASES OF STOCK are required so that Common Good Bank members will own the bank. Your stock is your ownership share in the bank. Purchases of stock are also required by regulators and must be separate from funding for the startup costs. Funds from stock sales will become the initial lending capital of the bank.
