Slog

Iyiyiyiyi. Our web hosting company insists that it’s not their problem if other servers “greylist” us and the server companies that are refusing to accept the newsletter are not being helpful either. So today I spent a few hours testing — deleting different parts and amounts of the newsletter and resending to an agreeable advisory board member, watching which versions got bounced and which did not. After all that effort at enlightenment, I now know that if the newsletter says “Thank you for” then it bounces (I get an error message back), but if I stop at “Thank you fo”, then it does not bounce (I get no error message back). Either way it doesn’t get delivered. Gack.

Exgeek though I may be, the mysteries of the internet are too vast for me to grok. I’m thinking I’ll just go ahead and send the newsletter and put up with it (probably) not getting delivered to 20% of the people or more.

On another front, I “exported” the common good bank slideshow video from MS Movie Maker in a dozen different formats. Nearly all of them end up with the wrong aspect ratio when uploaded to YouTube and the few that have the right aspect are very low resolution. Argh.

So I planted a tree, moved some furniture, cut some wood and started setting up public presentations about the common good bank design. No point slogging ALL day.
