Okay! The web server has settled down. The newsletter is optimized to not look like spam. I tested it with SpamAssassin set very very picky (.01). I have a bounce-processor ready to go so that rejected messages can be resent in a simpler format.
I did some research about the best weekday and time to send newsletters and scheduled them to get sent Wednesday morning automatically. I realized that our list has gotten so big that the newsletters cannot be sent in one batch. So I revised the program to send out 50 newsletters every 15 minutes until done.
Whew. I always feel lighter after finishing something, but I guess I won’t feel that way until the newsletters have actually gone out. I have high hopes that a dozen or so of the 650 people on the list will turn out to be qualified investors (and will tell us so, as requested in the newsletter). We’ll see.
I also met today with a potential investor. As a business owner he is very enthusiastic about the local credit card (which could save him money on both credit card charges and check-processing fees). Who wouldn’t be? He is also interested in investing, but lost so much money in the stock market recently, he wants to wait until things settle before thinking about an amount. I hope that things will settle a bit, before continuing the downward plunge.
